Members Travel to Atlanta for National Digital Arts Festival

Carlos, Guerschom, David, Members from the Washington Street Clubhouse traveled to Atlanta, Georgia for the Regional Digital Arts Festival. The members were celebrated for their work.

Clay in Motion at the Mystic-Healey Club

Members at the Mystic-Healey Boys & Girls Club are exploring the world of animation through clay animation. With the guidance of staff member Samantha Patton, members are writing scripts, sculpting clay characters, and photographing scenes in order to create moving images. This movie, "Big Monster Attacks 2," is by Tenzin, age 6.  Congratulations to Tenzin on his debut as a filmmaker!

Young artists honored at Regional Image Makers Competition

Two young members of the Mystic-Healey Boys & Girls Club took the gold at the Regional Image Makers Competition. Jose Lopez, age 6, won first place in the 6-9 age category. Lucilene Pires, age 11, won first place in the 10-12 age category. 


Image Makers is a national Boys & Girls Clubs of America program funded by the Circuit City Foundation. This comprehensive photography program encourages girls and boys to learn and practice photography, expressing themselves in creative and innovative ways. The national initiative delivers a state-of-the-art photography curriculum and provides photographic resources and opportunities for Club members to compete on a national level. ImageMakers provides local, regional and national recognition through an annual photography contest.
